We had one of these cash registers as kids and I vividly remember playing shops with it ALL THE TIME. I recently saw one at our friend's Mum's house (Belinda!) and she confirmed how great a toy it is, having kept one in her private practice for years and years (She estimated it had had about 30 years of daily play) and it is still as good as new.
So, when I saw this one on Etsy, made in 1974 (same vintage as Nick!) for only $10!!! plus $10 postage, I just had to buy it for the girls.
It arrived yesterday (it actually cost the seller $25US to post it! I knew I had gotten a good deal). There has been a lot of activity in Liv's shop, amid much dinging of the register and clinking of coins. Good times!

It was also a big hit in Canada! Did you see that some of the "new" tills these days come with scanners!?
