Four girls

Long time, no blog! I've made a few new softies (Humpty Dumpty, a butterfly and a caterpillar)in the past couple of weeks but haven't taken pics yet...

Then a fellow Playgroup Mum asked me to make her daughters a little doll each, using their baby clothes. I was so excited! And to be entrusted with their baby clothes. Yikes! With FOUR daughters ranging in ages from 2-11 years, I was quite a busy girl last week, but I did it!

The oldest, Rebecca's favourite baby dress was this Osh Kosh tunic;

The fabric is quite faded as all three of her sisters have worn this dress over the years too! I chose a purple flower for her hair, which is her favourite colour apparently. What a lucky pick!

Elizabeth's dolly is slightly wider than the others to accommodate the gorgeous embroidery on her red cord dress;

Despite having two younger sisters she was determined they would NEVER wear this, her favourite, dress. Well, I can guarentee they never will now!

Claudia (a redhead) didn't have a dress she loved as much as her jean shorts;

These were so tricky for me to cut and sew, the fabric SO thick, I couldn't even get it under my presser foot! I had to hand sew it with thick nylon thread. I'm pretty sure I don't ever want to sew anything from this type of material ever again! But I am happy with how they turned out. I think this one is my favourite actually.

And little Amelia (Millie) had a beautiful Ralph Lauren dress that I was so scared to cut into!

Her doll was made ever-so-slightly smaller than the others, being the baby of the family and all. And baby-blue for her hair, of course.

The fabric I used for all the dolls legs came from one of the matching nightdresses they all wear;
