Ruffled Skirts
I have been dying to make some ruffled skirts for the girls and finally figured out the right dimensions for them (I should have just bought a pattern, instead of lying awake at night, trying to picture how long or short each band should be and how it would all go together). And you know the saying, 'Measure twice, cut once'? It didn't work for me! This skirt was just slightly too tight for Liv and slightly too big for Elly, but very cute nonetheless;
It's her new favourite skirt. Which is good, considering I sewed the entire thing with her sitting on my lap 'helping me'. It was tricky - she's a wiggly one!
And no, I don't really know why I am making summery skirts in the middle of winter... I just like them!

Black Apple Dolls
The plan was the use fabric from Liv & Elly's baby clothes, but when it came down to it, I couldn't bear to cut up a single one of their beautiful dresses. And all their other baby clothes were stretchy fabric- no good. So I ended up just using fabric scraps, old ribbon and for the dolls faces and limbs, I cut up a beautiful, soft, swaddling wrap I used with both my girls when they were babies.
A doll for Liv;
A doll for Elly;
And a doll for their new baby cousin, Lila;
This much!
