Baby Bumblebees (3 More)

Of course, I had to make a pink one;

And a green one, with some cute robot fabric, for a boy;

(although it does looks a little feminine)

And a blue one;
But I think I'm all bumble-bee'd out for now...
Next time, something completely different (No, really - I'm making a fabric book... stay tuned!)

Baby Bumblebees

Last week I discovered the wonderful world of Bit of Whimsy Dolls. Sarah is the creative genius behind the most amazingly cute (and easy to follow) patterns for plush dolls and toys. I wish I had her talent for pattern-making and fabric-matching! She is not only very clever, but generous too... she is having a Christmas in July giveaway on her blog... check it out here. But for now, I am just happy to have found her site and bought my first pattern. Actually, I had a really hard time choosing which one to try first... until Livvie told me she wanted me to make her a green bumblebee!

Of course, I had to make Elly one too...

And I couldn't resist making one for a friend's little boy...

[They were so fun to make, I've also made 3 more which will hopefully be finished tomorrow.]

It was hard to take a photo of all the bumblebees together...

...because someone's little hand kept reaching in to play with them...

... and give them hugs!

Hmm... what to do with two 30cm strips of fabric?

Skirts, of course!

However, I am pleased to say I am trying out a new pattern today, for something different.

Should take me about two hours...

Reality is, it will probably take me all week!

Matching dresses

The pattern couldn't be simpler (I have made quite a few of these now) and yet it still took all week to make these, stealing 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there.

It is getting increasingly harder to photograph them both together, being still... but finally, a pedestrian overpass did the trick!

One daughter is happy to pose for photos...

The other can only be seen as a blur, speeding past me!
