T'was 10 weeks before Christmas....

Is it too early to start sewing for christmas?

Don't you love her rosy cheeks? I just need to add some nylon whiskers...

Apron

An apron I made, to go with a gift for my dear friend...

Happy 30th, Kel!

Pin Cushions

I made these pin cushions with some fabric I could not go past without buying last week;

It also meant I forgot to buy the felt I needed - which was my whole purprose for entering the store! Oh well... I'll just have to go back!

Scrappy Flower Brooches

It's Scrap Buster Month at Sew Mama Sew and I could not wait to try making some scrappy flowers like Jenny from All Sorts.

Here are mine;

All made in one day, with silver brooch pins sewn at the back.

This would be a great little project for someone without a sewing machine, as all it requires is cutting some fabric and hand sewing the button/brooch on.

And it feels good to put all my small offcuts to use!

Peggy Legs

I painted these little clothespeg dolls many moons ago;

I think it's time I made them some new friends.

So, I'd better dust off my paint set and tub of varnish...

Hopefully I'll have something to show by the end of the week.

Simple Halloween Cupcakes

I LOVE making cupcakes and here are some really easy ways to decorate them for Halloween....

[I made these ones last year, with a just-turned 2 year old at my ankles and a 6 month old on my hip, so believe me when I say these are very simple to create!]

Frankensteins;

(Marshmallows, M&M's, gel and sprinkles)

Deadly Spiders;

(It's true, I just stuck a plastic spider ring in each one... so it could have been deadly for the kids, but luckily these ones were intercepted by the Mums!)

Pumpkins;

(Jelly beans and spearmint leaves)

Severed fingers and eyeballs;

(Soft candy straight out of a packet!)

And my favourite, a little graveyard scene;

(Ladyfingers, gel and sprinkles)

Now, what to make this year?

Another bunny

I love the colour combination of this one; the creamy felt and the red outfit. It reminds me of the traditional wooden Easter bunnies from Germany we sold at a gift shop I worked at many years ago, like the ones here. I did embroider a little face and then wished I had little gold spectacles to add too. Next time...

[I would love to share this pattern, as requested in the comments last time, and intend to do so just as soon as my scanner is fixed)
