Sweet celebration

Nick, his Dad and I celebrate our birthdays in the same week, so we always have a combined triple-birthday celebration. This year I made golf cupcakes... because it is a sport both men love...

...and because I happen to love chocolate cupcakes with peppermint icing!

Today's festivities began with some wine and Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup;

So lovely. After a big lunch we all nibbled on these sweet little meringues Nick's Mum made...

She even shared the recipe (which includes the option of joining two meringues together with white belgian chocolate!);

There was lots of fun playing with cousins and of course, the children put on a concert for the adults, which always happens whenever we are all together (love this). This time the teenage cousins showed the littlies how to do folk dancing;

And it just wouldn't be a celebration at Nanny and Grandpa's, if there wasn't some swinging around on the old hills hoist washing line!
