The day started out so well - no fevers since bedtime last night, the sun was shining, fresh sheets on all the beds, chocolate nougat pudding on the cake stand...
The girls were happy, energetic and keen to do some craft, so at approximately 7.28am we began making some little angel gift tags;

In lieu of having a printer that actually works, I sometimes resort to tracing pictures from children's books in order to give my girls something to colour-in. Today I traced (16 times, but who's counting?) from this gorgeous book by Dick Bruna (creator of Miffy), the latest addition to our Christmas collection;

Then we moved onto finger-painting Angels - a cute craft template found at Babyccino Kids, which I have used countless times at home, at our community playgroup, our church playgroup, and even when I was on prac a fortnight ago. With a bit of nifty cutting and folding, the angel becomes 3D and the littlies really love seeing their painting standing up!

However, just like these angels, I too threw my hands up and surrendered when both girls came down with high fevers at lunch time and I pretty much spent the rest of the day trying to keep them comfortable, hydrated and at arms length from each other. There's nothing like feeling sick and your sister sitting on top of you, as you are trying to have a snooze on the lounge...
