Is it just me...

or do these toys have personality!

This is half our collection of pull-along toys. They are tricky to photograph, as everytime I got them out the girls would want to play with them! [I guess that is what they are meant for...]

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Some photos from our Mothers' Group Morning Tea today...

There were green cupcakes, of course;

Frogs in Green Jelly;

And a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Ducky

I picked up this lovely little wooden pull-along toy at the Holy Family Art & Craft Show, Lindfield on Saturday. He was rescued from a box in the jumble sale area. He must be our 6th or 7th wooden pull-along toy, which I guess means we collect these now. The girls love dragging their little friends behind them, while on their many adventures. And I do think it is very cute!

(I had to tell my husband it was an Easter decoration, to counter his concerns over why we would need another one because 'Don't we already have one like that?!?!' hehe ;)

A Quilt for Gran

Before our recent trip to Queensland, I made this simple lap quilt for my Gran, who we went to visit in her new aged-care home;

It's usually very warm there, but Gran feels the cold. I opted for a very lightweight batting and quilted it with the very plain and simple technique I have heard called 'stitch-in-the-ditch';

It was all going well, until the last line of stitching, when my pedal gave out and simply would not work anymore! Needless to say, I got out my needle and thread and finished the quilt and put my machine in for fixing...

Gran loved the quilt. Unfortunately 10 minutes after giving it to her, we saw the Dementia at work and she complained that people are always leaving their things in her room! Anyway, we left it on her chair and I am hoping the nurses will think to lay it on her lap whenever she needs a bit of extra warmth...
