I just love seeing children happy and best of all, as a Mum, making happy memories for them. Ever since I first saw the Crepe Paper Carrots on Martha, I knew I wanted to make some for the girls and their little friends from our Mothers Group.
We had a little Easter picnic today, so last night I was busy with my paper-towel rolls (and when I ran out of those, I used two toilet paper rolls, stuck together!) for the general carrot shape. I squeezed one end to a point, to get the smaller carrot end and began rolling orange crepe paper around the outside, wrapping little treasures inside the layers as I went.
Inside I hid mini chocolate eggs, a fluffy easter chicken, some stickers and a Easter Bunny pencil inside the centre of the cardboard roll. Next time I will start looking early for tiny trinkets and flat/bendy treasures that will be easily concealed around the cylindrical shape.
The wrapping part did take a while (much to my husband's amusement, 'Are you really going to make 7 of those?!?!?), but it was worth it...
