40th Birthday

We had a special dinner last night, for my sister-in-law's 40th birthday;

Nick's Mum used these {recycled} water bottles as vases, filled with beautiful Camellia's from her garden;

...and of course, we all loved the mini sticky-date puddings for dessert!

My contribution was these little Cake Pops I made yesterday;

I used this clever 'cheat's recipe' from here (with great step-by-step photos!) and they were very yummy! My niece kept wondering where she had tasted the flavour before... that would be because the 'cake' inside was simply mashed-up Oreo cookies with added cream cheese, dipped in chocolate and sprinkles.

It did take me a while to explain Cake Pops to the Florist (who wanted to know what I was doing with the Oasis brick), but it was worth it, because otherwise they were going to be upside-down Cake Pops on-a-plate!

Happy Birthday, Lucia!
