Fudge

Every so often, we take a little trip to the country for a few days. We don't go far (young children and long car trips = not much fun) but we do love the Southern Highlands. It's an easy two hour drive from Sydney, we usually stop half-way for morning tea and arrive there by lunchtime.

I don't know why, but I love taking photos of luggage. I like seeing what we packed, to go where. I've been taking pictures like these, since Nick and I took our first trip overseas. My how times have changed! Look at all those umbrellas, gumboots, lego and toys!

We have stayed at a couple of very nice farm stays in the Southern Highlands, but the last time we went, a couple of weeks ago, we stayed at the beautiful Luxstowe House.

Luxstowe House used to be the cooking school at Frensham, a girls boarding school. It was sold and relocated (literally put on the back of a truck and moved!) to Burradoo, and is now set in beautiful gardens...

{even the dog house was picturesque!}

Everything was so green...

So pretty and peaceful...

Magical...

Dreamy and other-worldy for our children to explore...

Cosy inside...

Can you tell I am missing it already?!?!

Our little family could very easily get used to this sort of country living!

But I really wanted to share with you a little secret about Kangaroo Valley...

Do you know about the fudge?

High on a hill... {blink and you will miss it!}... is a little sign that says Fudge & Toffee.

Pull in to that driveway!!!!!!

(You will probably be driving pretty fast along this stretch of road and you will probably nearly fish-tail off the road like we did, but believe me, this is worth risking your life for!)

Once you come to a screeching halt, this is what you will find;

A fridge.

A self-serve fridge!

A self serve fridge, filled with the Best Fudge (and Rocky Road, Turkish Delight and Coconut Ice) you will ever taste in. your. life!

Now you will need to go back to your car and raid your ash tray, glove box (children's pockets - whatever!) to find the coins you need, to buy this amazing fudge.

Of course, it works on an honesty system;

You must read the guestbook too; we saw one entry signed by people who choose to drive two hours out of their way when travelling back from holidays, just for this fudge!

(We may very well become those people).

But the good news is, you can order it online too; Fudge Addiction.

{It is really good. I have already stashed the coins in the car for next time!}
