Recovering

I can hardly believe it, but we missed Halloween this year. After having my wisdom teeth out in hospital last Thursday (Worst experience of my life! The surgeon and the hospital were great but I don't think I was quite prepared for the pain and agony, at all!) and after spending the next 4 days in bed recovering, I was still in no shape to take the girls trick-or-treating on Monday night.

We have spent lots of time at home, immersed in books. I stumbled across a fantastic book sale two weeks ago (I think it must be ex-Borders stock), so I stashed them away until now, when I knew I would really need them. We have definitely been inspired...

I tried my hand at embroidery again;

It is far from perfect but was a nice distraction, to learn some more stitches and have a practice. Of course, I was soon joined on the lounge by others who were interested too...

Love the little pot-belly!

The girls used Hessian, blunt needles and 6 strands of thread;

And created their own designs...

I was a bit unsure what to do with my little stitchery...

I used an old cot sheet for the back;

And turned it into a little doll's quilt;

All so lovely, except the teeth out of course! I know exactly the feeling, it is not nice.
