The party invitations were designed by one of my lovely readers, Symone of Oh So Stationery. She also sells amazingly cute Teacher reward stickers and other beautiful party goodies including a vast array of Invitations, in her shop. I was so happy with these invitations!
As for decorations.... A frog either side of our front steps, picked up at Bunnings from the Clearance table;
Luckily, our garden is overgrown with the appropriate-looking weeds!
We were hoping to have a pool party, but the weather was not good (3/4 of our state is currently flooded and it has rained all week!). So I decided to turn the girls' playroom into a party room and made some decorations to suit;

Bunting, some green tissue paper flowers and fabric hoops. As well as some fabric streamers, crepe paper streamers, paper bunting and lanterns for the windows;
One of the easiest things to make, a Watermelon Frog;

He has limes and grapes for eyes, held on with toothpicks. So simple and at only $7 total, a very inexpensive centrepiece. The kids loved him! Elly and I went to Daiso last week (Daiso is a Japanese store, where everything is $2.80), and we picked up some fun froggie pieces;
A frog with a flip-top mouth (like a cookie jar), which we put lollies in.... and these cute little froggy steps;We used them as little stools for the party guests to sit on (they got to take them home too);

Soon, the guests began to arrive...
We did manage to play some party games in this small space.
Musical bumps (like Musical Chairs, but the children have to bump to the floor when the music stops) was a hit, they had lots of energy!
I made up our own version of a classic party game...

Pin the tongue on the frog! These were the ribbon tongues;
And the winner of the game;

We also played Pass-the-Parcel;
Chocolate Freddo Frogs at every layer and a froggy purse from Daiso for the final prize;
Then it was time for the cake;
My cakes are always very underwhelming and I always vow to just buy one next time... and then I leave it too late to order one! Elly had asked for 'a cake with frogs jumping into a green jelly pond'... Um.... {Too hard for this frazzled Mum!}.... So a simple froggy cake it was and luckily, she was all smiles;
Little guests took home a Frog favour bag (from Daiso)...
And the adults got a lolly bag (because that is what Nick and I always look forward to, when we get home from a party!), tied with the lovely Thank You tags Symone designed;
.

Despite the weather and being stuck inside (with 25 people squeezed into our tiny house!), it was a great party. It's always so nice to get together with family and friends for special celebrations. Happy 4th Birthday, Elly!

What a gorgeous party! I can't believe how much frog things you managed to find - have you been looking for months?! I bet Elly had the most beautiful (hopping?) birthday.
Happy Birthday Elly, I'm glad you liked your invitations as much as I loved designing them x
It looks like a great party.
Ah the combination of wet weather and a little person's party - enough to make any mother anxious!!!
It looks like you did brilliantly. I have heard lots about Daiso and am very keen to check it out. You have given me even more reason to have a look!
Glad you are well - it's been a little quiet around here and I was wondering if all was well with you and your family
So so cute, love the frogs!. H loves green frogs too, so I will have to show him. What a great score getting all those froggy items and the cake looks yummy (it looks good and I am sure it tasted fantastic). Happy Birthday!
