Celebrating Mothers Day early

I told Nick that today felt like my birthday. I have been waiting all week for the Mothers Day celebrations at the girls' schools. Livvie and Elly have been preparing for weeks now, practicing songs for their concerts and making gifts, but it's all been pretty top-secret!

Today was such a treat...  Elly's preschool put on a Pamper Session for all the Mums. It was so much fun; Elly painted my nails (pink on one hand, glittery red on the other), she curled my hair with rollers, put blue and purple eye shadow all over my eyes (ALL over my eyes!), gave me a shoulder massage, rubbed lotion into my hands. The teachers took photos (you can imagine what I looked like!), but they accidentally deleted them. It doesn't matter though, I will always remember today, it was perfect.

After some songs and a yoga demonstration, Elly presented me with the following gems;

A colourful portrait!

(Love the sparkles and the random reference to me helping her make bunny rabbits ?!?!? I can't actually remember doing this)

A beautiful necklace;

And a bag decorated with her colourful handprints;

I love it all! I have worn the necklace all day, including out to lunch with Nick at a cafe. And I will definitely get a lot of use out of the bag too....

In the afternoon it was time for Livvie's celebration, first a liturgy, some beautiful prayers and songs and   a slideshow of all the Mums with their Kindy kids;

Then we were given the Mothers Day presents that the children have been working on.

Another lovely portrait!

(I wish I always looked so bright eyed!)

And a personalised Love Heart,
'a sign of warmth and love a child has for their mother. A love that has no beginning or end'....

I think it's funny that both my girls wrote that I give them lots of hugs and kisses...

...especially since all I usually hear is, 'Stop that Mum! Ewww! Disgusting!!!!'
