Compromise

While Nick and I are pretty similar in most things, there are some areas where we differ greatly.

For instance... If there is a job to be done, Nick likes to make sure it's done properly. He also doesn't mind spending the money on it - ie. 'It costs what it costs'.

For me, near enough is good enough. This also means I like to think I can do things myself (despite often having no clue about what I am doing... and I also like to save us some money where I can).

Nick likes to engage the services of a Professional Photographer to take photos of our babies at 3 months old. We have done this for both Livvie and Elly at the 12-week mark... at a cost of about (gulp) $800 each (we like to buy lots of prints).

However, earlier this week, I asked Nick to humour me, put on a black t-shirt ($6) and stand in front of two metres of black fabric ($3.60).

Here is the result of two little photo sessions we did. It was hilarious, trying to wrangle a wriggly baby, and fend off two adoring sisters. But I think it was worth it, if only for the memories... it was definitely a family bonding experience!

And our favourite;

This is Oliver, our calm little baby cradled in his Daddy's arms.

(All for less than $10. However, I will concede and let him get them professionally framed.... A carpenter I am not!)
