Oliver is 4 months old!
I took him for his vaccinations on Friday... and of course, I forgot his blue book! But I guess that is pretty typical for the 3rd child. And truth be told, the girls now use their blue books as colouring books... Thankfully our Doctor has a sense of humour about it all!
Then on Saturday, poor Ollie woke up with a little cold ~ mainly sniffles ~ the girls had it earlier this week and thankfully, it only last 24 hours, but I felt so bad and wished I had put off his needles until next week. (Wouldn't it be nice to have a crystal ball, to predict these things?!?!)
But so far, he has proven to be a healthy little boy.
He now weighs 7.7kgs (16.9lbs), tracking on the 90th percentile;
His length is 68cm, which is the 97th percentile. I can't believe just four short months ago, he was inside my tummy. Crazy!
Crazy too, that I am now only 100cm taller than him!
'Crazy' might also describe the past week. We had two nights of him waking every hour and he's been gnawing everything in sight, whilst dribbling all over himself (and me!). Could it be teeth? I do recall the 4-month mark (and the 9 month mark) being very tiring (and trying!) when the girls were babies; there just seems to be so much happening developmentally around these times.
But at four months old, Ollie is a delight. This photo was taken yesterday after he perked up and he was full of smiles. He also has the cutest little chuckle!
He has been learning a few new tricks lately like trying to roll (with varying degrees of success) and wiggling upwards and off his play mat ~ I once returned to the room to find his head almost wedged under the ottoman!
He is also concentrating on holding toys (loves his rattles!) and bringing them to his mouth;
He just generally does not want to miss a thing; his little face is constantly looking around, searching for his sisters;
(I must say, that the girls are a huge help to me with Ollie. When I am making dinner or busy with something that must get done, they are so good at keeping him entertained and/or distracted until I'm finished. Thank you, girls!)
They are never far away;
We've had a bit of a rough week, but when I look at these chubby cheeks...

... All is forgiven ;)
The girls like to tell me, 'He has the chubbiest cheeks! the softest skin! the loveliest lips! the biggest blue eyes!' etc etc, ad nauseum.
My favourite is his velvety hair. I have never felt anything like it.
As Elly would say, 'He is the beautifullest baby!'
