Over the past week, I have been snatching 5 minutes here-and-there to make some simple little giraffe rattles.
So many of my friends are having (or have just had!) babies this year and baby rattles were the one thing my girls insisted we get for Ollie, when he was born. He has quite a few now and really loves playing with them.
I have 4 other giraffe rattles to stitch close, but for now these two that are finished will be going (as soon as I get to the shops to buy the rest of the present!) to my best friend Brooke and her 1 week old baby boy, Cruz;
And my friend Veronica, who just found out she is having another baby girl!
They really are so easy to make and are a great little project for using up scraps of fabric and ribbon. I used two small bells inside each one, so it makes a gentle noise ~ unlike some of the other, louder, toys available for babies these days!
Would you like to make a Giraffe Rattle too? Let me know in the comments or by email {margandnick[at]yahoo.com} and I will make a downloadable PDF Template for you!
